Thanks~
Art schools tend to look down on the anime style, but there's a few that embrace it. These are my top three choices and I was accepted to all of them.
Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) is one of them. They actually are the only nationally accredited art college I've seen with a Major in Comics (including manga). They have animation as well
[link]School of the Art Institute of Chicago is still rather iffy about anime fans but they're willing to let it slide if you show them you are capable of fine arts skills and thinking. They have a really really good animation program and I heard they'll soon have "Sequential Arts" classes, which is fancy for "Comics". They are my second choice and are going to be my grad school choice.
[link]Kansas City Art Institute is my first choice. They have an amazing animation program (its teaches you hand-drawn and 3D while most colleges only teach 3D), and their Illustration is open to anime fans. The campus is amazing and there's two art museums not even a block away from the school grounds.
[link]Keep an eye out for schools not nationally accredited. That basically means that whatever credits you take their wont mean anything for other colleges. So if you want to switch to a different school, you have to redo all your credits. This also means that the worth of your diploma will decrease as well.
All three of these schools ARE nationally accredited.
Hope this helps~
